We recognize that there are some instances where wood furniture should stay as is. But in Claire's case, a coat of shiny white paint transforms her spice rack into a beauty...
Found for just fifty cents at a thrift store, Claire could see the potential of the previously used spice rack. Giving the vintage find a few coats of white paint, she hung it on the wall of her craft room for ribbon storage. We love the variety of colors paired with the area of white--making the ribbon rack appear brand new.

Great reuse of a dated piece! I don't think I would've seen the potential in this one but it turned out fabulous!
Brilliant and beautiful!
Great! ...and now I want a spice rack.
Very nice!
I like the transformation, but I am in love with that ribbon collection!
HeartsAndCrafts, I'm with you! Such pretty little ribbons, and what a brilliant way to store the skinnier ones - I have bunches of old wooden spools from my grandma that I'm going to go home and repurpose asap!
Yeah, this is totally great--simple, functional, cheap, and adorable. I now want to run out and do this myself--I have just the spot for it!!
Gosh, cute ribbon!
I love this idea! Very cute & useful!
What a great reuse!
(Now I wanna know what she did with the wee drawer...)
Best idea ever!! Good job!!
lovely! and all that ribbon has me drooling!
Very smart idea....and pretty!
Believe it or not I have more ribbons, so once I get a 2nd spice rack the drawer can go back into this one and hold small scraps of ribbon.
thanks for all the nice comments!
After seeing this post, I got a very similar spice rack (identical except for a third spice shelf instead of a drawer) and spray painted it black. I now have it in my kitchen as our spice rack. It looks great with the new paint job, and it got all my spices out of a cupboard. Thanks for the inspiration!
