Brooke, from the home décor blog Inside-Out Design, started with this run-of-the-mill old coffee table, and with some ingenuity and a lot of handiwork, she and her husband transformed it into a one-of-a-kind hand-tufted ottoman.

Brooke used West Elm's Ikat Print by the Yard fabric as inspiration for completely transforming the coffee table. The coffee table legs were cut down, stained and stressed; 2x4s were added to the sides to give it more an 'ottoman' shape; stuffing was added; fabric was wrapped; and buttons were sewn to made this amazing piece.

White Enamel Four-P...
This came out just beautiful!
Yup, really nice.
cute idea! I removed the dirty top and stuffing of an ottoman and painted the top, so this is the opposite.
I like it! I also like the poster against the fireplace
love it!
wowsa a winner!
Great job! Looks perfect to put your feet up on and relax. Also baby/toddler friendly. Well done.
Lovely, well done!
even though i do not think there is anything new about this project (which is what i felt when i first clicked in) - you did a fantastic job. this looks very tailored and gives me hope of doing my own tufted headboard instead of dropping the money for one.
Thank you so much for the feature!! What a great surprise!! :D
Is that a DIY knock off of the Village print???
Thumbs up!
Yes it is! Here's the link the post about it: http://inside-outdesign.blogspot.com/2012/02/displaying-my-wedding-veil.html :)
At the risk of raining on the parade, isn't the "DIY knock off of the Village print" a violation of copyright law? According to the Village website where this poster can be purchased legally in one of four colors, a graphics company called Super Rural owns the copyright. I'm not even a fan of this item which I see too many places, but I hate seeing artists' work get ripped off.

@Jukesgrrl, I'm guessing they just have copyright on that particular print, not the quote itself. Since the owner of the "DIY knock off" didn't copy the print, more so used it as inspiration, I don't think there would be a problem. Plus she isn't selling it, she is using it in her own home.
@Jukesgrrl, I think crafting something at home falls under personal use. She's not distributing it to people or selling it. Also, it falls under inspiration because she uses a veil on her take on it, it's hardly a spitting copy of the original art.
Great job, Brooke, on the art!
Great job!
Love it!
It's another creativity to the max which gave me another inspiration for my next project!
looks great
