Ah the power of a few coats of paint! This little side table looks like it's way past its prime but with a little elbow grease, sanding, and a fun new paint color, it is transformed!

The sunny yellow paint color transformed this table from a scarred old relic to a shiny new treasure!
Denese at Plum Life blogged about this table makeover. The table itself has been in Denese's possession for some time, hence its well used appearance in the before photo. She wasn't quite ready to give it up just yet so instead of retiring the old table she reinvented it! It took a little sanding to smooth out the old finish but then after a couple of coats of paint and coat of polyurethane for sheen and durability, the table looks brand new.

gorgeous.
I love yellow :) Good call!
That looks good! What method did you use to apply the paint? Spray, brush, roller,???
I love the lines of this table! Great job!
Don't like the color, but you did a great job on the reno. Well done!
perfect
i'm with RMF325 on the color; i think i'm allergic to yellow or something :)
but she did a great job painting it and i am all for reusing and repurposing instead of going and buying something new. well done!
Either Fire Engine Red, British Green or Cobalt Blue would make it brilliantly nice.
p.s. Good paint job. I like polished surface.
i just love yellow :) great job!
Paint and AT readers: good things.
I love yellow, but I feel like this piece could have benefited from a coat of paint that was just a little bit lighter. Fabulous paint job though! Refinishing furniture can truly give it new life.
Very nice!
Perfection. (Would also look good in glossy white-doesn't everything?!)
Pretty!
Well, it's a beautiful table and a beautiful paint job. I just bought an old wooden side table from a thrift shop for $20 just to practice stripping and painting it.
sweet job! never thought a change of color alter a peace so dramatically!
I love the color! It makes me smile just looking at it :)

Please tell us: did you use brush, roller, spray? Beautiful finish!
I super love it!!! I am currently addicted to painting things yellow even though I was never a yellow fan, now they just make me smile!! Great job!
Fab!
Hi all,
Thanks for your comments. Maxi Bear's nursery revival is a work in process and I hope to share the final results here.
As noted above, I did brush the paint which is Disney (Behr), Laser Beam Yellow in Gloss.
The vintage style lamp is from Anthropologie purchased several years when the nursery was occuppied by my daughter.
Look for other projects and revivals at plum.
