Sammy recently discovered the joys of Rub-n-Buff, a metallic wax she has been using to add a little glam to a series of projects around her house. In addition to several lovely furniture makeovers, Sammy used gold Rub-n-Buff to transform the look of her previously bland entryway.

It can't have been easy to stencil such a large area with metallic wax, but wow are the results worth all that work! The end result looks like an expensive wallpaper but without the seams. The Rub-n-Buff has a wonderful shine that catches the light in this small hallway. Sammy recommends using an old t-shirt to apply the medium, and to wear gloves to protect your nails from the long-lasting effects of the metallic wax.

It is always nice to see people finding a new use for a great product, especially people who have the patience to take on this type of large scale project. Seeing Sammy's fabulous results is may just spark a run on Rub-n-Buff; have any other readers used this product to such great effect?

White Enamel Four-P...
Wow, great job!
This looks fantastic!
I never had good results with Rub-n-Buff -- I think I need a tutorial! Obviously I have been doing it wrong!
I've used to repair chips and flakes in things -- like a picture frame after a move, for instance. But this is inspiring!
wowie zowie!
That is really impressive!
I've used rub n' buff a bit, and I'm confused how one would, um, rub and buff something through a stencil. It seems like that would be challenging! I also wonder if this is sealed in some way.
Looks great though!
Well done!
amazing!
Looks great and it made me laugh because when I use Rub and Buff, I always want to find more and more things to do with it. I just can't stop and I end up with random junk covered in metallic paste.
She obviously had a similar impulse but channelled it so impressively. Amazing. I love it.
lovely! i want it! :)
Looks amazing! Well done! But it makes me wonder if the huge amount of labor involved would make this more worth it than a similar wallpaper.
I just thought of something. I wonder if this wax will be a problem sometime in the future if they want to repaint or whatever. (It could resist paint like batik...) Well, since it's newly done, this won't come up for a long time, I'm sure...
Wowza!
Wow! This is absolutely stunning!
Wow! I have several different colors of Rub-n-Buff that I use for craft projects, but I would have never thought of this application. I may have to try this somewhere in my house!
Where'd all that sunlight come from?
Everybody knows there's a little bit in every jar of Rub n Buff, @smariel! I think the windows are just out of the shot in the "before". You can see a corner of the doormat in that shot. They crept an inch or two to the left for the "after". And waited for dawn...
How beautiful!
Beautiful!
amazing
Where can I find a glass jug like the one in the picture? Would love to throw some pussy willow branches in one!
