I love it when readers leave links to their blogs in comments, which is how I found out about this project from Gloria at A Little Paint. She commiserated with my can't-paint-another-stroke pain by showing a room makeover she took on earlier this year. The "after" is proof that a little paint can make the biggest difference in the world.

I am so impressed by how Gloria transformed this once boring room, from the eye-catching detailing on the ceiling to the cool ombre cabinet. Though not my personal style, I still find her cozy little workspace lovely and charming. I can just imagine sewing or painting for hours and hours in there.
So the next time you're neck deep in a home improvement project and simply can't go on, think of of a glorious after like Gloria's and get your DIY groove back.

Love the ceiling! No one ever said it could only be one color!
Wow! The room looks so much more inviting and spacious!
where did you get the ceiling light ?
looks so beautiful !
Liike how you did the drawers like a sample strip. The whole thing is cool.
Great transformation, although personally not a fan of that powder blue shade. Love the ombre shelves.
Oh, whoah, hi! The room was SO dreadful before, and I'm positive I painted until my fingers bled.
D D, the light is from Overstock. They still have it here.
Chesterandtrudy, Haha I once got a lot of flack in some comments about the bowl being "hazardous" and hoped no one got hurt. It's actually an antique silver bowl and sits on my kitchen counter now. You can now sleep soundly tonight.
Here is the armoire makeover.
Love the ceiling!
PS My grandmother has that same exact bowl. We put vintage linens in it and use it as a bread basket at family dinners!
This is lovely...but I have to say this pic doesn't tell the whole story, the post on your blog made me smile, it's a great creative workspace. I especially love your credenza.
I love it and OMG how have I never seen a thread rack like that? I need one for my dining room/craft space!
I wish my dentist's office looked this pretty. Much better than tattered Anne Geddes prints on the ceiling. Babies in pots! Open wide!
No to the ceiling, but a very definite yes to the gradiated colours on the wardrobe.
ME=JEALOUS, JEALOUS, JEALOUS. Great job.
A quick note: If those are sewing threads on the wall; beware. My sewing teacher said that light-natural or otherwise, will compromise thread.
