As much as we like to show cool bedroom makeovers, when it comes right down to it, it's not really in the budget for many of us. There's always something that feels more pressing and it's easy to put decor on the back burner while other responsibilities are taken care of. This family knows the feeling but finally had a chance to transform their 8-year-old son's space and all we have to say is... "Cowabunga Dude!"

This room was rather cool to begin with - check out that killer custom bed above. Lara of Less Cake More Frosting decided to transform her son's room so she packed up a few of his things and sent him to Grandmas. When he came home, his room had been made over into this great mix of contemporary modern surf. The colors are great, the overall execution and feel is fantastic and we're pretty much ready to move in.

Many rooms get small mini makeovers and while that's well and good, we like that this family saved their pennies to transform the entire space for the biggest impact they could. This should transition him into his young adult years or potentially through college. Doing the entire space at once really gave them the most bang for their buck!
