I have a passion for folks who reuse those common items that go unloved at thrift stores and garage sales. Chandeliers from the 80's are pretty high on that list and there's literally hundreds of them at my local Restore. I never knew what to do with them, but Mandi did. Want to see what these items look like now?
Remember the chair makeover we featured a few weeks back? Mandi took out old caning and put in upholstery webbing instead and it was fabulous. In that same room, she also combined a hanging planter (or two) and an old glass and brass chandelier into something unique and original.
The glass surround was removed, the entire thing was painted and a few metal hoops were added to combine it all together. This project serves as a great reminder that you can always make something from nothing and create pieces that are unique to the space you're working in.

Ercol Bar Stool
Ohh, I dig it! Funky and unique!
That's really clever!
Smart! I like the paneled walls too.
I was expecting to not like the result. Ha! Silly me! It's great! How much work was it?
my exact reaction:
"Huh??....OOOooooooOOOOooH!"
nice work :)
looks amazing!
A total keeper!
Hmmm....possibly for my new dining room....Hubby sure loves his ceiling fan in the bedroom. *sigh*
NIIIIICE!! I like when ugly + ugly = CUTE!
ooooooohhhh... Like it.
NOT what I was expecting. Which is a good thing. How cool!
Wow! That is clever as hell.
To me, it doesn't look all that different from the before. Maybe if it were different colors...
I'm more interested in that headboard - can we get some details on that?
A clever DIY and MAJOR upgrade, but not my (personal) cup of tea.
VERY nice! i also pass up those at my reStore all the time. although, i do have an idea for them that's different. now i'm inspired...
