Last week when I put together this roundup of pretty pink items for your home, I secretly had a favorite in the list. The pink geometric lamp was right up my alley, but after a reader left us this great tutorial for turning a vase into just such a structure, well I'm saying goodbye to high priced lighting and hello to inexpensive diy!
Over at Used Everywhere they also loved the look of this lamp. Literally, the same exact one. Neat huh?
Now, I see vases all the time when I'm out and about (hello TJ Maxx) but more often than not I pass them right up since a house can only have so many vases — I mean really. My hunt has resumed as I am now in search of ones with funky shapes to try this lamp wiring technique out. You'll need a drill and a few bits from the hardware store, but after this easy to follow process I'm willing to bet you'll find yourself in the same position I am! Making your own has always been cool, but when it can save you big bucks, it's even cooler!
Check out the full tutorial over at Used Everywhere for more details and a supply list to head to the hardware store with.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Nice!
very nice. Would have even worked with the original color.
LOVE! I loved the lamp from the other post as well so Im super happy about this diy. :)
Lovely!
Funny, that same lamp at TJ Maxx would cost you $39.99 or a little more...
pretty!
Looks great, although I wouldn't do it in pink... teal would be nice, or chartreuse...
Cool!
I almost didn't even look at this post because that vase is so ugly! The lamp looks amazing though. I am glad somebody saw the potential in it!
So rarely do I snicker at AT posts. Informative and entertaining.
