Sprout Side Table
I would have wall mounted the monitor that was located under the table, I would have placed it were the cork board is. Still nice thou.
I'm thinking about this for my media center, but I'm worried about fire hazards. It seems like throwing all those high-draw device bricks/cords into a sealed box would lead to overheating.
Thoughts?
I've seen people who use the "box" method, cut out the majority of the back of the box to help ventilate. No one will ever know the difference!
I'd at least try to stack the cords and devices neatly into the box instead of throwing them in there, but if you cut a large enough hole, you will have plenty of ventilation.
i agree the 2nd pic is much nicer than the first, but who wouldnt?
What doesnt make sense is how this is somehow a great home office organisation strategy... the before pic had a full desktop computer, but the after only had a laptop. is that the great tip here? throw out desktop computers because laptops are smaller and create less clutter? how much does this 'hack' cost?
@mahph: Exactly what I was thinking. There's much less wiring that needs to be hidden after the conversion to a laptop. It would have looked much cleaner without anything being done. There's not even the monitor in the first pic which would have made it even messier.
The after picture is also taken with better lighting (you can see it's night in the first pic and then there's natural light coming in in the second).
