The world is full of retro bathroom fixtures that have many charming attributes, but aren't quite worthy of being brought into our homes. We love this vintage vanity makeover. Kerri added interest to the vanity by amplifying its retro style making it a focal point in her bathroom.
This before and after comes from one of our favorite sources, Retro Renovation. This vanity was found in a salvage yard. Kerri replaced the metal doors with glass doors that she stenciled with frosted glass spray to emulate her vintage bathroom light fixtures. She pained the metal panel turquoise after stripping off the original paint. The final touch was to raise up the vanity to cabinet height to make it a more comfortable fit. The end result is fantastic. Great work Kerri!

One of the few AT DIYs when I think "Wow!" Wow, great job!
Awesome!
Wow - That's Fantastic!!!
Very well executed.
If you read the original post that isn't the same cabinet. Kerri had a very similar cabinet with glass doors. She stripped the paint, repainted it turquoise, and frosted the doors. She didn't replace the doors with glass, they were already glass. That said, it looks fabulous and just goes to show that some of the "ugly" midcentury vanities out there could have a new life with some vision and elbow grease. I wish my midcentury bath had its original vanity or sink, it has a hideous Seventies replacement pedestal sink that looks like a shovel. Although not for long!
Huge improvement; well done!
I see what you mean but, even though it's not the same one, it is still a stunning transformation. I actually felt my eyes bulge as I scrolled down and came to the picture. As far as AT DIYers go, Kerri has definitely raised the bar!!!
Stunningly deco. You totally rocked the transformation.
LOVE IT!!
Very cool! I love it!!! One of the best before/afters I've seen.
Very Neat!!
