Lindsey sent us an email about a successful furniture rescue and revitalization. Nothing like a good makeover to counteract a slight case of the Mondays - we love seeing pieces get recycled instead of ending up in landfill.

Lindsay wrote: I rescued this cart from an estate sale for 25 cents. And with the help of sand paper, spray paint and barkeeper's friend I refreshed it with a new color and shiny, polished legs again.
The investment for this sweet looking cart? A few hours of work and a grand total under $10!

Thanks, Lindsey!

sweeet
nice job!
gorgeous
Jaw-droppingly fantastic.
Thanks AT! I'm so glad you like it! The cart is currently in my office house my fabric collection.
Great Job! Ahhh, that was much better than checking email!
Adorable! Very inspiring little paint job.
love!
Nice! and a great color, too!
wow, i didn't expect this...what a great job!
Very Pretty!!!
My mother had one similar years ago - it was that awful Avocado Green...
Fabulous! But where are you going estate saling? I think I'd be likely to see this with a $25 price tag and a note that says, "Fine patina."
I did almost the exact same project with the exact same cart - mine is now orange! Only difference is mine has an outlet screwed onto it, which comes in really handy for for toaster and coffee pot. And, mine cost $4 :)
I just bought a similar cart (with an outlet) for $7 from my local thrift (and that was half off!) ~ thanks for the inspiration!
Barkeepers Friend is awesome... gets stainless to sparkle pots pans surfaces... genius stuff
Great job!
I'm always on the lookout for a cart just like this. Awesome job!
Ooooo, and love the COLOR, too!! This would work great as a nightstand, too. Great save!!!
Lovely. I just got a similar one out of my elderly neighbour's garbage - only it has 2 shelves. A can of spray paint, and it's in my living room as my "summer" end table. My mom tells me the one I have was used in hospitals in the 1930's-40's.
LOVE! I found a vintage yellow cart that needs the same TLC treatment - thanks for the inspiration!
Great job -- I have the same one (it was my mom's and it's really handy, but dingy). I was going to cover it with contact paper, but this is much better.
Fantastic and affordable re-do. I have one in yellow and have seen them retail at vintage shops for $50. Great find and good work!
This 'little' makeover is so inspiring!
Wow, this looks almost identical to a cart I rescued a couple years ago. Mine cost me $4, though. :o(

Great job!
When I clicked the link, I was braced for another wretched "I covered it in birdie fabric!!!" makeover. Instead, I found beauty. Yay.
Wow--great job!
Ah. Okay, when I first read this I thought "barkeep's friend" was a person. This sent my imagination twirling. Viz:
When I needed my chrome shined, I called the barkeep's friend. I gave him what he wanted, and he gave me what I wanted: a kitchen cart with gorgeous legs.
A week later, I bought a rusted bookshelf for 50 cents at an estate sale. I called the barkeep's friend. I gave him what he wanted, and he gave me what I wanted: a bright and shiny bookshelf.
Two days later, I purchased a kitchen's worth of corroded cabinetry. I called the barkeep's friend. I gave him what he wanted, and he gave me what I wanted. Someday we'll get around to the cabinetry.
I bought a similar kitchen cart at an antique joint out in the boonies for 8 bucks. It's slightly taller than this one, and in better shape overall, but it (sadly) doesn't have the polished metal legs. I've been meaning to redo it for a couple of years now, and this cute B/A has definitely inspired me to give it a go already!
"Only difference is mine has an outlet screwed onto it, which comes in really handy for for toaster and coffee pot."
My mother's did too!
great job!
Should I be this excited by a metal cart? Very good job!
I see these all the time at thrift and antique shops. Knowing how easy and cheap this project was, I might just have to pick one up next time!
loving it!
Beautiful! Job well done indeed.
Love it!
I really like it. Good idea to choose a paint color from the ear of the cart...
That is an amazing makeover. Very inspiring.
I have the exact same vintage cart, but mine is orange and in good shape. After seeing your cart's awesome make over, when the time comes to tackle mine, I'm won't shy away from it.
