Nicole Gibbons is the talented blogger behind the packed-full-of-good-ideas site So Haute. We asked her to send us some of her favorite before & after projects to share with you during Home Projects month, so, without further ado - a total transformation of an eBay find, courtesy of Nicole:

Nicole tells us: I got this chair on eBay and its original condition was pretty worn and tattered. I stripped the bright gold color off and re-painted the frame a softer gold with a slight pink tint then had the guts of the chair replaced and reupholstered in a pink metallic Kelly Wearstler for Lee Jofa fabric. The transformation was drastic!

LOVE IT, but I loved the gold too!!
So mutedly elegant. Great job!
You did an awesome job with the upholstery! Love the colors!
"re-painted the frame a softer gold with a slight pink tint"
Does "soft gold w/pink tint" = silver, or is the photo just not doing it justice?
Oh, and while I liked it before, the tone on tone after is lovely.
Much improved! Nicely done! Looks much more elegant now!
this chair is delicious.
Very elegant!! I have a similar Louis XV chair I would like to refinish and reupholster. Thanks for the inspiration!
Fantastic fabric/paint choice! Very elegant
What is the gold? LoVe it
Really nice job. I have a similar chair with a cane back that I picked up for 10.00 it has potential I am going to try this paint color very nice-
TeresaKolo its on her blog-Nicole used Modern Masters metallic paint in Warm Silver
I liked the before, but the redo fits the space perfectly.
so pretty! well done.
Very nice.
i normally dont like pink, but the After is SO PRETTY! great job on the color selections!
"The transformation was drastic!" --and FANTASTIC!
Beautiful
This is SO pretty! So elegant! Great vision for this chair!!
Actually prefer the before, and I don't like gold much. Oh well, fits your space now....
It went from bad Persian hair salon to chic!
Actually Garrett22, I'd say it went from drag queen to ladyboy... and that's meant as a compliment(!) The before was garish and camp, while the new is more subtly feminine with just a hint of flamboyance.
The colours, and the shape of the chair, work very well with the detail in the curtains. There's a strong sense of the early 1960s trend for classicism.
NOt sure about the fabric choice but the color of the chair is nice.....
Beautiful!
Gorgeous!!!!!
Well done!
Fabulous, dahlin', fabulous!
lovelovelove it!
Subtle and delicious.
Taking a look at the Metallic Masters collection now. Very nice colors!
Beautiful, I found a pair of these many years ago, did something similar. Still have one the other was eaten by my pit mix rescue...
Very, very nice! Really well-done and great upholstery job on that! I would love to see some step-by-step photos of some of these more complicated pieces with piping and upholstery on the arms. I'm just a rookie and I'd love to venture into some pieces like this.
Wow, I love it.
the softer gold is PRISTINE - thumbs up !
Beautifully elegant. Well done!
Hi Everyone! Thanks for all of your amazing and positive comments! I really appreciate it! To answere a few questions/comments:
@KaBoomBOX - the color is actually called warm silver so you're right - it is technically silver...however it doesnt really read silver in person. It actually has more of a rose gold tone.
@TeresaKolo - b77 is spot on. It's Modern Masters Metallic paint. If you happen to live in NYC you can find it at Janovic.
@fairydogmother - I didn't do the upholstery myself! I wish!
and for those who commented about the fabric - the photo really doesn't do it justice! There are very subtle silver-y metallic threads woven throughout that the photo really couldn't capture.
Thanks again for such positive feedback!
It's perfect, I absolutely love it. I'm going to buy some of that paint right now.
well done!
Classiest makeover I have ever seen. Fabulous.
Not my style, but a beautiful resurrection of a chair with great lines.
