This month is all about color and adding vibrancy to the home. The reality though is that not all colors are created equal, and not all colors work for every space or person. This bedroom is a perfect example of how different colors can change the mood and feel of the same room though three different iterations.
This bedroom was blue when Meg first moved it, but the color and the border just didn't suit her needs. The second picture features her first transformation with a soothing green paint (Behr's Asparagus) setting the tone for a relaxing haven. The dark furniture and pops of turquoise and red in the bedding and artwork are a great contrast to the green walls and white and green duvet.
Eventually Meg decided to make another change to her room to better reflect her personality. The soft blue paint (Behr's Tidal Pools) sets a completely different tone that the previous green, a more sophisticated tone that is echoed by the new bedding. The addition of Meg's own artwork over the bed ties together the new nature-inspired theme.
Same room, three different colors — which do you prefer?

Love room 3, and definitely do NOT love room #2 (although green is usually my favorite color).
Room 1's border was yuck, but it might have looked good w/o the border and with that lovely bed. Is that an Ikea Malm?
Lrrrrvly!
Commenting for the first time in defense of the green in room 2. I have Behr's Asparagus in my apartment. That photo doesn't do the color justice at all. Though I do find it too energetic for a bedroom.
I like room 3 best in large part because the artwork ties it all together better than in the other iterations.
Hmmm, wonder if anyone prefers number 1? Hope not! Room 3 is a bit too matchy-matchy for my liking, but still not bad; love the bedclothes in room 2 but not the art over the bed - to me it's a bit too... graphic for a bedroom. But both 2 & 3 are miles better than 1!
That bedspread with the birds is AWESOME. Love love love it.
Although I love green and most of my apartment is decorated in it, this application works best with blue in my mind. Calm, serene and everything a bedroom should be.
The third one reminds me of Twitter LOL
The 3rd one is definitely the most cohesive design. I have that bird quilt too! It's from Target and reversible which makes it even more great =]
Room #3 for color and serenity. Could do without the bird quilt, the matchy matchy is too much. But it's far better than the other incarnations. (When will AT start editing? Those glaring typos are SO annoying!!)
where is the art work from in #3?
I like the blue room for multi-purpose use with the window shelf but more importantly I like the Team fortress 2 Sandvich edible device art! I'm sure I'd like the other 2 framed pics around it if I knew what they were!
