This chair looks like it's on its last leg. Um, literally. The leg on this chair had rusted through and the whole thing was bent out of shape. No wonder it was sitting out on the curb, waiting for the garbage collector. But wait! This chair hasn't quite reached the end of its life just yet …

Rachelle, from Adventures in Creating, saw this old metal chair on the curb and decided to rescue it from its garbage heap fate. She was able to bend the chair back into shape and that rusted, busted leg on the chair didn't scare Rachelle either. She had recently gotten a new welder and recognized this as an opportunity to put it to use. So, after using a Dremel to remove the old rust from the leg, Rachelle welded it back together.
Once the chair was welded back together, Rachelle gave it a couple of coats of red spray paint (because, really, everything looks good in red!). And now she has this gorgeous vintage outdoor chair that cost next to nothing.

You really should have an award for the best renovation project or something because this person deserves it! What a wonderful transformation!
Wow, That is impressive. Perhaps the greatest before and after I've seen.
Very lovely! FYI, if you don't want to buy your own welding equipment, you can look into the services of a "mobile welder." I didn't know such a thing existed until a couple of days ago when at work I had a field emergency and needed to have equipment mended right away. Something like this chair would have been an $80 charge to fix.
I actually really liked the patina on the before, but I imagine that welding it together probably messed it up.
Snazzy!
Oh, I love this! My grandparents had chairs like this when I was growing up, and I love the retro look. Well done!
Stunning!
Every girl deserves to have a welder. I miss mine! <3
*applause*
Nothing says "girl" like her own welder. And I thought the air-compressor and nail gun I got for Mother's Day was cool...
Now sit back and enjoy a cocktail. Great job.
Some of the big chains carry new copies in nice bright colors, at reasonable prices.
This is great. I love that she welded it!
