Kami wanted to redo her Portland bungalow's blah kitchen on a budget by using mostly reused or recycled materials.
What a cozy kitchen!
When all was said and done, the only new items Kami used were the lighting, the kitchen faucet, and the angle iron supports on the shelves and the countertops. All the other materials were salvaged or created with reclaimed materials (the ceiling was even made of old wooden bleachers from a local college). Final damage? About $12,000 for both labor and materials.
While she realizes that, "open shelving isn't for everyone," Kami is a set designer and prop stylist so she knew that she could make it work.
Thank you Kami!
