Maury (Mars for short) is slowly but surely redoing her guest room to make it an inviting place for friends and family to visit. Since she is working with a budget, she is reusing furniture from her childhood- furniture she loves but that looks well-loved in return. Using some familiar products, Mars managed to transform the look of her childhood bed for this new adult space.

Oh the joy and wonder that is Howard Restor-a-Finish and Feed-n-Wax! With just a little elbow grease, steel wool, and rags, Mars was able to give that childhood bed a new shine, peeling back the years without having to strip and restain.
The Restor-a-Finish helps remove the evidence of years of use and abuse, covering scratches and adding a rich tone to the wood, while the Feed-n-Wax makes up for years of neglect by saturating the wood with moisture and allowing it to literally shine.

Shaw's Original Fir...
That is awesome! I have a great old trunk I need to restore. Thanks for the tip on this product.
I was expecting paint; not that it's a bad thing to paint, but when the piece of furniture is in reasonably good shape, it's nice to see it turned back to what it once was.
Very nice job.
Great job!
I used both Howard's products on a 1950s sewing desk I found at Goodwill. I was amazed at how the Restor-a-Finish would conceal scratches and water damage! I felt like I was watching an infomercial with the instant results. My own sewing and crafting will add wear to the desk so I was not concerned with making it look new. It is now mainly free from scratches, has a nice rich color and shine to it, and the wax helped take away the musty smell.
I've used a similar Old English product with great results. I don't know why more people don't do this instead of sanding and re-staining! Part of the charm of vintage and antique furniture is that it's old and I like a slightly worn look.
Beautiful!
OH MY GOODNESS! Thank you so much for featuring this! I just did a little happy dance in my office.
BEAUTIFUL!!!
