When Ms. Bliss found this lemon yellow dresser by the side of the road, she was certain it still had some life left in it. She was already working on redoing her 13-year-old son's bedroom, and knew the added storage would be a great addition to that space. With only minimal damage to be fixed, this dresser was an excellent candidate for a more masculine makeover.
Ms. Bliss added some junk wood to the bottom of the dresser to cover up the broken piece, before painting the piece chocolate brown. After painting, she waxed it and added castors to the base to raise the height. She cut out the center of the top drawers and replaced them with chicken wire to add a little edge, before stapling on old belts to serve as drawer pulls. She added some rock and roll graffiti, drumsticks, and ticket stubs to complete the look. Her 13-year-old was delighted with the end result, which cost less than $10- enough to delight any mom's heart!
