This before & after project is a great example of how a good imagination is often the key to a great makeover. Kind of makes me feel better about all that daydreaming I did during algebra class.

This makeover was featured on Sunset, and I love that this plant stand wound up costing $3.19, the cost of the Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch spray paint in Sun Yellow. If you needed to buy a pot, the project would cost a bit more, but still far less than a wrought iron planter. It's also cool to see how quickly something rundown can be repurposed into an effective piece by popping out a cushion and sprucing up the paint.

Shaw's Original Fir...
Cute idea! I wonder how it would look if the pot and the stand were the same colour.
very nice makeover, especially the cute feet. agree with above, want to see them in the same color LOL
Nice! Simple, easy, and unexpected.
Very cute! :)
"A little bit country..." (channeling my inner Marie Osmund, not that anybody here is old enough to understand the joke...)
@Sherrybinnh, you're absolutely right. You are the OOOLLLLLLLDEST person here.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to hike up my purple socks and ice skate right on outta here.
Cute plant stand, also. Always find myself wondering just who would sit on those chairs, anyway.
Just here to echo THATKRIS.
"I'm a little bit rock and roll" and I like it Sherry ;)
Those are the stools they sell for putting in from of vanities/in the bathrooms, no? Not really a fan of them. It seems pretty lucky that the pot fits so well!
Very cute. I like that you can just pop that seat back in and have a nice little chair when and if you want it.
Sherry, I'm 25 and I get that reference.
Great idea. Reminds me I need to think outside the box a little more.
I would perfer the chair to the plant stand but I always enjoy seeing people's creativity here on Apart. Therapy.
