Good Question Revisited

One of the best things to find in the email inbox — a successful "before and after" sent in from a reader who previously got advice on the project from the Apartment Therapy community through a "Good Question" post. Hi, I sent you an email and pictures asking for advice for my kitchen. You posted my question and photos under "Good Questions" on December 11, 2009. It took a while due to my husband's unexpexctedly getting mobilized with the Navy Reserves, but I completed the project yesterday under $3000.00.

My husband was deployed with the military at the end of December, so everything I did was "on my own". I did hire a contractor to remove the sofits and install new lighting. The rest I did myself. I used Sherwin Williams Pro Classic paint in a custom mixed color, Sherwin Williams adhesive primer, deglosser, sand in-between etc..., and Min-Wax poly-acrylic, 3 coats. Sprayed the handles with metalic oil-bronze spay paint. My husband, on his return, built the crown molding for me with decorative molding from home-depot and painted to match the cabinets.

Thanks, Sharon! Really nice work!
