One of the best parts about making do with what you have is the opportunity to make awesome improvements! In the case of these stadium seats, although they were cute beforehand, they needed more personality. Ready to see what they look like now?

By using foamcore and fabric, the people behind Maple & Magnolia gave the backs of these seats a bit more punch. With the additional help of some color and wax, the chairs are now ready to take center stage!

White Enamel Four-P...
I hate to say it, but I liked them better before.
I'm not usually a naysayer, but based on what we can see of the before I liked them better before. It's all about personal style, though.
Count me third for liking the before better. I have to say, though, that's what I expected when I clicked through from my reader... the charm of the stadium seats are that they're stadium seats!
I like the after better! The before version was charming in a vintage way, but the after version looks much more inviting to sit in, and it goes better with the rest of the room, from what you can see.
Another for before...but that's just personal taste. The after also looks great!
I liked the 'before' better too. I'm not one of those ''don't-ever-mess-with-vintage-wood'' people, but in this case...
I prefer the before too. I think I would have liked the after better if the fabric was on the seat instead of the back. That might have worked out better.
Oh, the before is much better...I could have seen some simple updating with paint perhaps, but the richness of the color before was to die for!
It was better before. The wood was so pretty and had a nice patina. It now looks like a couple of cheap folding chairs.
Add me to the before-was-better list.
That is not an awesome improvement.
Hmm. Oh. Maybe a brown padded seat would complete the fabric look?
They looked so much better before.
I saw the 'before' picture and couldn't think of any way they could look more awesome. And yeah, I really really prefer the before. I agree that 'personality has been completely removed'. They were gorgeous...
I just looked at these again. The final product isn't bad at all. It is actually neat looking in an Ikea kind of way. It is just such a shame to have sacrificed that beautiful wood.
The color was so rich and those neat old bolts showed the age. This is like painting a stick figure on top of a Monet. Ok, i'm not going to look at it again.
Before!
Another in the before camp.
Team Before
I actually really liked them midway through the project (shown on the Maple & Magnolia blog), when they had the upholstery, but before the wood was painted.
personality is gone now:( They were stunning before. Now they just look, well....boring. I am sorry, I hate negative comments but, I can't help it.
