Before & After: The Fate of Sheryl's Vintage Chairs

Good Questions Revisited

To DIY or not to DIY?...that was Sheryl's question. She wrote us two years ago asking the community whether she should shell out the money to have this chair and ottoman pair reupholstered professionally, attempt to do it herself or (gasp) cover them with slipcovers. Readers weighed in with most votes going toward letting the pros handle it. What did Sheryl decide?...

Sheryl tells us:
I decided to have the chairs professionally reupholstered after considering the feedback from AT readers. The cost was approximately $1200 total including fabric, a bit of an investment. However, I am very pleased with the result and they now reside in our library/music/computer room. They are well used and our dog Lucy loves them too. Thanks AT!

Good call, Sheryl - they look fantastic!
