No matter how cool salvaging and making over old furniture is these days, there's still one style that sits lonely at the thrift store. Heavy, ornate, chunky 80's pieces never seem to get any love. But today? Today they get all the love in the world.. at least this piece does!
This dark and heavy style was probably prominent in many of the homes from our youth, and it almost feels as if nothing could save it. But this makeover from Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss is exactly the opposite!
This bright punch of green color was just what the design doctor ordered. This unit is just the right size for this family room. It anchors a large flat screen television visually in the room and also holds the family's dvd collection inside its many drawers. Make sure you check out more photos over at Less Than Perfect Life of Bliss as it really is a stunning transformation and might just be what you need to change your mind about saving a piece of this style!

Sorry - don't love it any more in green.
Love it!
It isn't easy being green.
Way to go bold! I see this working really well with Asian inspired accents throughout the rest of the room.
i really like it...though I prefer the clean & minimal look of MCM furniture - so does everyone else it seems and they are impossible to find at thrift stores in my parts! This could be fun in an otherwise minimal room where it can be the focus without making things look too busy.
Great job!
Nice! It's so daring, I think I'd be tempted to go even further and paint pink and red flower petals, lighter green highlights, little bits of yellow...!
Whoa! Somehow it works and I admire the initiative and bravery it took to take on a piece of furniture like that!
Much more interesting that before for sure!
Wow! MUCH better.
