We were so impressed with Viviana's clean and bright kitchen, we knew the rest of her home probably offered up more of the same (and we were right). What was in store? A renovated bathroom chock full of charm to draw lots of inspiration from, after the jump.
We love the decision to go with a lighter floor (which helps open up the space) and contrasts great with the darker, sleeker under the sink cabinet. Viviana also ditched the sliding glass shower doors (which can look dated) and brings in loads of color with a bright and patterned shower curtain. Using a round, plush bath mat--almost the same color as the flooring helps the space flow and again, feels open. A few space saving products also work great for her renovated bathroom (an extension mirror on the wall and a wood shower caddy for organizing products).

Shaw's Original Fir...
great shower curtain!
agree about the shower curtain? Where's it from?
I want to know where they got that sink and cabinet.
It's a good reno!
What can you suggest for bathrooms that have tub doors? I am in a rental, so can't remove the doors. I have thought of just hanging the curtain over the door to cover. But, would it look too weird?
that's an awfully tiny towel to use after showering!
For as long as I have been alive,my grandparents have had a shower curtain over sliding shower doors. I guess since it's always been that way, it's never seemed odd to me. If you're tired of looking at the doors, I would totally go for it. Of course, they also have a ruffled fabric curtain topper and carpet in the bathroom, which I do not recommend.
oh wow, i love that wooden shower caddy. does anyone know where i could get one?
Looks like Orla Kiely shower curtain.
I'd love to find out what the snak and vanity are, as well as the color of their wall paint.
Are those slate (stone) tiles on the floor?
Did they decide not to have a medicine cabinet in their bathroom, or is it hidden behinf that mirror?
The sink is definately ikea.
Yes, great reno. I'm curious—does anyone LIKE their tub doors? I want to get rid of mine, because I find they are so impossible to keep clean (especially the rusty/dusty bits along the bottom track) but I do kind of like their retro look. (My doors are plain glass, not frosted or anything, so they're not as tacky-looking as others I've seen...)
Ooh, I'd love to know where she gets her sink and cabinet from, too. We're in a process of redoing our bathroom and having a really hard time finding a sink base that we both like. I think we might be agree on this one - it looks so nice! Please, please, please tell!!!
Hi all! Thanks for the comments!
The shower curtain is from Target. Sink and cabinet from Ikea. The tiki shower caddy is from BB&B.
We chose to not have a medicine cabinet and decided to go with a huuuuge mirror. The bathroom is really really tiny and there is no window, so we thought that a mirror will help us not feel too claustrophobic.
The Ikea cabinet bellow the sink however is very spacious. We also have some storage right outside the bathroom that works as well.
I can't remember the specific # of the paint, but is Ralph Loren.
This is great, especially sink & cabinet. I couldn't find this cabinet on the website, do you recall the name of this at Ikea? Yours is much nicer than what I see online.
I agree with jenanddavid1000. I can't find a sink cabinet like yours online. It looks similar to, but nicer than, the FREDEN/ HÖLLVIKEN combo platter. What's the scoop?!
Nice renovation! I'd like to know if you did the work yourself or hired someone and what the approximate cost was.
Hi there. I don't remember the exact name of this Ikea sink and cabinet. We bought it in 2008, so maybe it was discontinued? Sorry I can't be of more help.
maplesyrup, we are tackling the renovation by ourselves. No help at all. We started in 2008 and there is still a lot to do. You can see every step here:

Thanks!
tiki?
...d'you mean teak?
Yep. I meant teak. Sorry!
I have that shower curtain. It is Target but not Orla Kiely. Not there anymore but they have something similar with the leaves.
Nice reno!
About shower doors on a tub. I think if they are kept meticulously clean they are nice -- not particularly aesthetic, but functional. You could always attach a frosted contact paper or otherwise decorate the doors on the outside if you wanted to, maybe using an Xacto to cut out leaf designs or something for a custom look. (Being able to see to the back wall of the shower/tub makes the room feel much bigger.)
But covering one with a shower curtain is another option I don't see a problem with.
(There was shower in a tub in our old house, where "Someone Else" somehow managed to soak the floor with every shower because there were no doors to close and "Someone" had problems fully closing the curtain. It resulted in water soaking under the flooring into the subfloor causing it to swell and warp. I'm in favor of anything that keeps the water where it is supposed to be.)
The shower curtain is what pulls it together, for me. I love it. :)
