Cold season is in full bloom and there's no better time to make sure your medicine is up-to-date and organized. Jules Kendall gave her family's medicine cabinet a complete overhaul - starting with organizing it by age, not ailment.

Since Jules, the daughter of a physician, keeps her medications in the kitchen instead of the bathroom she had more room to play with. She started with buying three inexpensive photo boxes and, instead of sorting them by ailment (cold, stomach, etc.) as she previously had, she sorted items according to age. Now she has an adult box, a children's box and a first aid box. She can carry one box back and forth with all the needed supplies and everything is at hand.

Shaw's Original Fir...
I did the same exact thing this past week! I used the little plastic tubs from Big Lots and organized just like she did but mine were organized into these categories: Children's box, Adult's Box & Natural remedies/preventatives. There was also a box just for my girlies' fingernail polishes which got relegated to the top of my closet.
We do the same :) three boxes: first aid, kids, adults. I use a large makeup bag to house all the nail polishes. All of them live in a small hall cabinet :)
Why purchase 3 photo boxes when you can use shoe boxes? That's what we use! If you want them to be pretty, then pull out the wrapping paper or paint.
Thanks for the link, Sarah Rae!
EllenPasta--We used our shoe boxes to store shoes.
We did the same thing - organized into clear plastic shoe boxes by ailment. I like that I can pull a box out and see if what I need is in it before I open it.
I'd prefer to see these as locked boxes, but I totally appreciate the idea of organizing by age. Great idea!
