A white wall can be quite the inspiring canvas for interesting or even a little crazy ideas. Shehzeen had one of those ideas, and though her husband was a little dubious, after she finished DIYing a statement wall in their bedroom, there's no doubt it was a brilliant — and easy-to-do — idea!
When I moved into my current apartment, I immediately knew I wanted a statement wall for my bedroom and everything else could happen around it. So I painted it. Hated it. Repainted it. Googled for inspiration. Came up with nothing. Thought some more. Questioned why the universe was conspiring against me. And then I knew what I had to do. Stamping.
I love dragonflies and having a bunch of them share my bedroom just made perfect sense. I picked up a stamp, calculated the positions for each dragonfly and stamped away. Three hours down and I had a big-impact, super inexpensive statement wall; easy peasy.
I went for a symmetric grid, but if you go for a random pattern, you'll get this done in virtually no time.
Thank you Shehzeen! See how she did it on her blog.
