Cedrick and Sunny are both from an apparel design background, and they have always been fascinated by modern architecture and industrial design. They really wanted to give the bathroom in their 1938 bungalow their 1938 bungalow "a vintage, industrial feel while still keeping it looking modern."
From Cedrick and Sunny :
We pulled out and replaced the old harvest gold toilet, and the cracked floor tiles were replaced with a graphic, black and white hexagon mosaic tiles. We re-glazed the old harvest gold coloured tub at Dr. Tubs to give it a new lease on life. The traditional light fixture was replaced with a more modern and industrial looking fixture from Industrial Light Electric.
We really wanted to give the bathroom a vintage, industrial feel while still keeping it looking modern. Keeping everything in the white color palette with hits of black helps to make the small room feel more spacious.
In the bathroom, the lack of storage in the form of a traditional medicine cabinet had us install a medicine cabinet from Ikea. We purchased the most basic, white metal cabinet that we could find. The “red cross” was cut out of self adhesive vinyl (available at most art supply stores in a variety of colours) and affixed to the front of the cabinet to tie together the industrial medical theme.
