We all know that changing out the upholstery on a chair can give it a fresh new look, but what if you don't feel like reupholstering with new material? Then try what Astral did with this old, stained barrel chair — she just made the material look like new!

From Astral:

I originally purchased this chair about 2 years ago from my local thrift store for only $5. I remember setting it aside because I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do to spruce it up. Now, fast track on to 2 years later when I find the chair buried under a bunch of junk in my basement. How that happened, I really couldn’t tell you. LOL. Nevertheless, I was thrilled to find it. I starred at the chair for a few minutes and tried to think of a way that I could give this vintage chair a makeover WITHOUT spending any money? CLEARLY…the ONLY choice was to paint it. A super low-cost alternative to having the entire chair reupholstered.
Thank you Astral! Find out more information about how this chair got a new look on her blog.
