Amber's home office began as a stylish space with plenty of potential. But the home office was hampered by clutter, with an excess of furnishing in a fairly tight space. By simplifying, editing, and replacing two for one desks, her home office was transformed into a work area with plenty of space for two.
Amber already started off with an attractive focal point: a DIY inspiration board. By replacing the two desks with a single continuous surface, the expanse of the bulletin board is mirrored beneath, adding a cohesive visual impression, while also maximizing her work area so much, she was able to fit an additional chair for a side-by-side layout.
You can get this look too! A Jonathan Adler lacquer hexagon trays accompanied by a lacquer home office set can give a place for everything in stylish fashion, while an affordable IKEA NUMERÄR kitchen countertop placed on top of filing cabinets can be as effective as any traditional desk (and a lot more affordable). The proof is in Amber's photos...a space now as inspiring as any of the elements tacked onto her inspiration board!

Perfect timing, was just off to Ikea this weekend to by the countertop for my office desk.Good to know I'm not the only one using it like this.
LOVE this! A great "all grown up" look with tons of personality!
Very nice! Sleek and beautiful.
Way better...Love the lights over the desk and that you kept the same curtains. Nice Job
I had a hollow core door covered with Formica for the surface of my desk. Works great, easy to keep clean. Looks great too.
Love the workspace, I'm a fan of long table type desks, where you can stretch all your stuff. And the board, everything close. However, I am personally getting sick of so much chevron... But everything looks great, Congratulations.
It wouldn't be an AT post without one snarky comment. There is literally nothing bad you can say about this office, but Marcela Z above is "sick of so much chevron."
I agree with the comment about the chevrons. I'd replace the curtains with a simple rolled bamboo blind. I'd also add a rush mat on the floor.
