- My room makeover::
- A leak from our tub surround and the fact that my boyfriend always wanted a clawfoot tub led us to remodel the bathroom. The project began on short notice and took over 3 months. New framing, insulation, drywall, and floors were the bulk of the project. Our "sure thing" plumber was injured before he could get to our job, so we ended up only hiring out the drywall finishing and then having a friend do the plumbing work. The end result was about $3000 but our bathroom is gorgeous! My favorite find is the sink ($40 on Craigslist). We bought the acrylic tub ($1000) and many other items from Signature Hardware.
- My makeover advice::
- Know that if you only work on your project 8 days/month and order things as you need them, your project will take over 3 months! Also, it is helpful to be handy and have handy friends. One more thing, clawfoot tubs are a pain in the butt!
- What I love most about my new space::
- This space really gives our house a modern yet vintage feel. I think this bathroom renovation does our 1920's Craftsman home justice! We like to think that this is very similar to what our bathroom looked like originally.
