Lauren and John moved into their first home in August with big plans for a DIY renovation. For some of us that might mean several prolonged months of planning, but not for this couple; most of their projects are already done! In the kitchen they wanted to brighten things up and make the space feel bigger. Two weekends and $120 later...
Wow, what a beautiful job! Without the budget for new cabinetry, Lauren and John had to come up with a workable alternative that would make the kitchen feel fresh and clean. They removed the cabinet doors, sanded and painted them in one weekend, then put up wallpaper and painted the rest of the kitchen the following week.
They saved money by buying vintage wallpaper on ebay rather than going for the new stuff. We think the pattern is perfect with the paint colors they chose!
Lauren runs an Etsy shop (currently closed during her move and renovation) where she sells her crafts and vintage finds, so it's no surprise that her kitchen is accessorized so beautifully with retro style. The bright blue of those canisters looks especially great with the new paint.
We couldn't resist throwing in a photo of Lauren and John's new dining room, too. Love the fabric window shades with that table!
