Before & After: A New Old Dresser

After some clever bundling (genius Craigslist strategy alert!), Elaine scored this all-wood dresser for just $5. She wanted to give her 5-year-old son's bedroom a grown-up update and so she got to work making this dated dresser little-boy worthy.

Such a great color choice! Teal chalk paint really gives this piece a matte modern look and brings out those killer details.

From Elaine:

With a cool 'fort' loft bed being built by a carpenter friend of ours, I thought a low, Mid-Century modern painted wood dresser would be a great compliment. After searching Craigslist for about a month, I spotted a perfect candidate hidden behind a dated facade. Trying chalk paint for the first time as well as updating the hardware and fixing a broken drawer later and we have a new, fresh 'old' dresser!
