If there's one thing Small Cool month reminds us, it's that even a small space can pack a dramatic punch. Beth Beattie, who owns a PR, branding, and event planning business, tackled her tiny office transformation on a tight budget without sacrificing high style.
After!
Beth's aim was to create a space that was comfortable and feminine with just the right amount of glam. The gray and white color scheme came from her company's branding and she stayed on a budget by making smart selections at some of our favorite big box stores.

White Enamel Flatwa...
What a beautiful job! I love the palette -- it feels cozy and intimate, rather than boxy and industrial (as it was before). Now off to my office, to dream of decorating my desk area. :)
yes, you can over-stuff small rooms and they can still look great! and this is a perfect example.
wow - that room actually looks bigger!
One reason this small room works is that a lot of the decor has no foot print.
Beautiful! Loved seeing your room!
Stunning!
What color is the wall paint?! I love it!
Beautiful, I only wish the curtains reached the floor.
Lovely after, the only thing is I wish the curtains went to the floor.
impressive! well done :)
This looks great! I love that you can still see almost the entire floor - it feels very open
lovely space, but the curtains are too short.
For a business office, I think it looks great!
So different then my own style, but I like it. It looks lovely, I will agree with "ell.uu" the curtains would be nicer if they were longer.
Lovely room! What color are the walls? I'd love to paint my bedroom that color!
An office that will have you enjoying being at work.
Those chairs!! K Mart?!! Lovely space...
Fantastic! More pictures please! Just great proof of the power of good design! I'm really impressed that an all grey office doesn't look cold or impersonal!
Absolutely gorgeous. Stylish yet tasteful. However, I do agree with the curtain comments. Easily fixed by sewing on a solid extension in the same grey as the curtain print.
I too am looking for a gray, and that one is perfect. What color is it?
oh my gosh! totally gorgeous!!! I LOVE every single thing about this romantic, classy, girly space!!!
Looks great!
I can't put my finger on it exactly but I think I would enjoy it more if maybe there was a secondary colour used for a few accessories to give it some dimension.
I know this look with all the same tones is popular, I just can't help but wish there were a few punches of colour.
I love this! What a great use of the space. She did a beautiful job, and the white and grey combo is gorgeous! Just the right amount of fussiness.
I cant believe those chairs are from K Mart...that is an awesome find!
It's gorgeous! Of course, a quick look at her site revealed bright yellow and blue, which immediately had a very different feel from this office.
Absolutely chic and gorgeous home office. Very tastefully done but I wish the curtains are a little longer.

great scene! so feminine and simple. well done!
ps: where is the bookcase from? I' ve seen it before but now I really liked it!
thanx
Really lovely -- to add to previous comments, what about making the one mirror behind the desk silver (or color of your choosing) just to add a dash of panache?
Very nice! A wall did get installed, right? Trying to make sure I'm not crazy.
I swear I saw that lamp on craigslist the other day. No source?
I'm adding to the chorus of people looking for the name of that paint colour.
AWESOME. I could not live with that ceiling, but nevertheless it could be a rental and I understand that no one want to spend money to redo a rental ceiling. The decor is lovely, it needs a few accent colors, and I agree with curtain length, either add a solid fabric to the floor, or shorten the curtain right under the window sill.
It's nicely done, except that I, too, wish the curtains were all the way to the floor. Also, the wall paint looks quite different from the curtains - I would opt for a more matchy-matchy colour.
"I know, I know Elton John's glasses are here somewhere....."
the lamp is from Target, i have the same one, and it comes in 3 sizes.
i'd love to know what color paint that is, though!
Love it.
For an office, I like the monochromatic scheme but I personally love grey & white.
Can't believe you got those chairs from kmart, high five to you!
I've seen similar lamp bases at pier one also but a different shade, pier one also had a greyish/black glass version that was really beautiful at one point.
Love this. Wonder if the lamp shade could be a smidge bigger and the curtains touched the floor. Otherwise perfection. I like the calm, restrained palette.
pretty - quite an upgrade - but the curtains are at a weird length - i think better to the floor?
Oooooooooolala !!!
Beth Beattie, who owns a PR, branding, and event planning business...
I'd be more impressed if Beth did this to her office for her mechanical engineering consultancy, or her septic tank emptying business. The disconnect would make her clients' heads explode. Hee hee hee!
I looooooooove it! Although I do agree with the other posters about the curtain length...And the person who said adding another pop of colour to the scheme would be good too. If it was my office I'd probably add a little hot pink here and there...but the greatness of the colour scheme is that pretty much any other colour would work and you could change small accessories all the time for a different mood without spending a bunch of money to redecorate again.
I wish it was my home office :)
Sorry but that mirror is way over the top.
This is great how you used the color and furniture to open up the space. I'll make sure to keep that tip in mind when looking for products that suit small spaces. Thanks for sharing!

seriously, author: find out that paint color! i need to convince my husband that it would look good, need to cover up all the stark white primer in my house.
I
Would
Never
Leave
My
Office
I too am an event/wedding planner and this is MY STYLE. I'm not hating a single thing. That mirror needs to belong to me. AH!
Very pretty, but where is the storage? Where are the books? The files? This wouldn't work for 95% of the people I know. It's all looks.
Very nice.
mmm nice! I too would never leave this office!
I really like this, it doesn't even seem like the same room! I disagree with the curtain comments too- I think to have floor length curtains would give it too much of a bedroom feel and this is an office after all.
Perfectly balanced
PS the paint colour looks very similar to one we have on our walls: Dulux Niagara Blues 5
I emailed Beth and the paint color is....
(drumroll)

Thank you so much emfelter!
There is nothing that I don't like about this place.
