We may not have seasons like the East Coast, but at least we know that what we plant in the fall has a close to nil chance of freezing over in the winter. (Plus, we can call of our friends who live in the northeast in mid-January and say, "It's FREEZING today! 75 degrees! I'm gonna need to put on a coat!") With that in mind, right now is a great time to start planning our yards and fixing what went wrong in the summer. (Like my entire backyard. The grass is burnt to a sad, sad crisp.) We were so inspired by Sunset Magazine feature of Timm Fryman's backyard makeover that we're ready to dig up the yard, throw down slabs of turf, and hit up the nearest nursery for the this season's choice plants. We are loving the geometric path, the built in bench on the side, and most importantly: the bold and beautiful pots scattered on the patio and the walk. Anyone have their own tips and tricks on rejuvenating a tired backyard?
