It was an exciting moment when I realised the large pallet I had just scored from a business down the road fit perfectly
between the open french doors and the lattice on the back deck. It was a sign. Clearly this pallet was meant to be my day bed.
When I knocked on the door of the receiving dock I was actually interested in the wooden crate that had been sitting outside for over a month, but they had plans for the crate so they offered me their giant pallet instead. I didn't really have a plan for it yet, but there's always something you can do with a pallet, so I took it home.
When I realised how well it fit I got to work!
Castor wheels from the hardware store.
White paint leftover from my storage units
from the garage.
Foam mattress from a second hand store.
Weatherproof fabric for the mattress cover from reverse garbage
Old film festival flag from reverse garbage
All the painting, sewing, eyelet punching and drilling was done by us over a week and now we have the perfect place to sit and enjoy the backyard.
