Architect Andrew Mann managed to beautify the house without resorting to a demo, which was out of the budget. Instead, he covered the plywood with red cedar tongue-in-groove siding, added more windows, and spread out the stair runs on the new wraparound deck. The result, including the tent cabin, below, is less motel and more sunny, restorative retreat. Can we book a room?
