DIY kitchens made from nightstands, entertainment centers, and all kinds of IKEA pieces are popular here at Ohdeedoh. But something like a workbench is a rare occurrence. We spotted the IKEA Duktig workbench months ago and hoped to see some DIY versions out there. Then we spotted this fun nightstand conversion over at The Frugal Granny.
Pretty awesome, wouldn't you agree? The best part is the measuring stick drawer pull. For more details on this project, visit The Frugal Granny.

Brilliant!
yes!!!!!! finally something for the non mini kitchen loving boy/girl (but in our case, boy.)
So cute!
Love, love, love it. My dream is to have a kitchen on one side, workbench on the other.
Yay! This is just what I needed. I just posted yesterday on all my favorite wooden work benches. You can check it out here:

I really love a few of them but like happybirthday, I'm also dreaming of making my own workbench/kitchen hybrid. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
The link to the blog doesn't work and send to the post about the Ikea workbench.
Nice job, it !
meant to type "I love it". Sorry
love this! i was expecting a kitchen. i had not thought about a tool/work bench!
i am also wanting some sort of storage for dress up clothes. 3 yr old is really into it 1 yr is a bit young still but will soon be into it!
I am filing this away to make in a year or two for my little boy.
My daughter would love this. She's always really interested in any work I do around the house. My wife bought a play kitchen a while ago and she's just now getting into it. I'll set her on the counter while I make dinner and I'm hoping to make some dishes she can get involved in soon. We're trying hard to teacher her that boys and girls can do anything they want regardless of gender. Now If I can convince my wife to mow the lawn... nah.
I totally want to make an adult-size version of this for me. :)
WOW!!
Thank you for finally posting something other than a kitchen! My daughter loves her tool bench and I wanted to make her one for outside as well.
