I have a tendency to post a lot of DIY projects on Apartment Therapy which means I've seen some really great and innovative projects, but this before and after blew me away. Daniel, an NYU student, decided he needed a new desk and used this dresser he found on the road as the base. The desk, in all of its amazing glory, is after the jump.
Did you expect modern? I definitely didn't! In love with the aged look of the wood in the dresser, Danny of Manhattan Nest decided to to use it as a base, but took off the legs and hardware. Inspired by the white and laminate wood combo of the George Nelson desk, Danny then painted the drawers and built a desktop out of two layers of MDF. Finishing with the hairpin style legs from IKEA just pulls the whole look together.
