I am quite envious of skilled thrifters; I'm unable to see the potential in a yard sale find or figure out what's quality and just needs a little repair or TLC. That's why I love seeing yard sale transformations. I have some hope that if I look at enough, the skills will magically transfer to me. So I've been staring at this beautiful kids' table and chair makeover for a few days. Check out what Lolly Jane did with this well-loved table and chairs.

Amazing, right? I love the gray and the chalkboard table top, which is perfect for lots of art projects as well as drawing right on the surface. The stripes and the numbers in a whimsical font make it look stylish, all the while being highly functional.
Lolly Jane, will you please teach me your secrets?!

Shaw's Original Fir...
Adorable!
I love the striped seats! So sweet!
Not what I expected; sorry to see the cute colored chairs painted. I thought the after was going to be done with vibrant colors but the job IS nicely executed.
Much better! I love how neutral they are. I don't think all children stuff should be bright primary colors. That new paint job will look great in any room!
Love the stripes!
Totally adorable, though bound to cause fights over who gets chair # 1. ;-)
Love it! Agree with AmyEileen88, kids need a variety of colors. If everything is done in bright primary colors it can create a chaotic energy. Neutrals are needed to soothe.
LOVE this! Amazing what some vision and paint will do!
I agree AmyEileen88! You cannot discern light without dark or color without contrast. Too much of a good thing is still too much. I like keeping larger pieces neutral (may want to move it to another room someday) and when the child gets older and decides on his/her new favorite color changing the accessories will be the less expensive way to go! Nice work on this set!
