We must admit that if we walked by this dresser on the street, we'd probably keep on walkin'. But not Lokate, who could see the piece's potential despite its sad state: a sunken middle drawer, only three wheels on the legs, and that ghastly paint job. Check out her impressive "after" below the jump...
Wow! We love it. Lokate spiffed it up with some paint, a few plates, cups and a pencil on a string to stencil in the circles. Read the full details of her project here, and make sure to check out the rest of ReceshBreak, Lokate's hilarious blog featuring money-saving tips for dealing with the recession.

It is ADORABLE! great job!
I like it but I think the colors need another coat- it looks kind of unfinished since the white is showing through a little.
I have been looking for a piece exactly like this to paint!
I would have loved to see funkier knobs, but it's definitely a marked improvement!
I think painting a couple of knobs and using them as additional circles is inspired!
Oh wow, her blog kind of makes my head hurt (it's so chipper!) but the dresser is super cute and perfect for a baby's room, which is where it ended up. I think the knob thing is inspired too, but I wonder will the paint get kind of grimy on the white ones/chip off generally? Still, I always love before-and-after's when the before is as awful as this one!
Good job, recycling at its finest. I've transformed many a street/garage sale find, sometimes selling them later for a nice profit. The first poster is correct though, the colors do need a second coat.
Very cute and colorful.
LOVE IT!!
Hooray for salvage! Nice job.
I've never thought of painting circles. This is great looking. Circles are hard to get the edges perfect. You really did a good job.
I may be the only one but I liked the before better. It reminds me of the sea. The after is too white and geometric for me.
