This 5-bedroom Oak Park Craftsman home was a mess of spongy old carpet and stained walls before it was completely rehabbed. I'm especially proud of this bright, modern home because my dad did the remodel from scratch. Who knew he had such amazing bathroom design skills? This home is currently on the market in Oak Park. Looks like the heart of this place was thrown out with the old carpet. These interiors belong in a new house not a lovely old craftsman.
I have no reservations about remodeling an old Craftsman home into a modern sanctuary. In fact, I'd prefer doing that to buying a new home or condo.
I love the tile that was used in the shower!
The renovations are nice but absolutely heartbreaking. That's not remodeling, that's remuddling.
the bath rooms seem out of place
I have many friends and have been in quite a few Oak Park homes that have had similar updates in 4 squares, Gundersons, Art & Crafts and traditional bungalows and for the most part they look great and they live great...and they easily sell (even in this market) if priced right.
Well that reads funny..."I have many friends"...I guess I think highly of myself! Anyway I have many friends in Oak Park and have done a few projects there and we had no problems selling with similar updates...but it is true that the too modern look does turn some buyers off...
