Before And After: Reader Submitted Chair Makeovers

After our made-over Tullsta posts earlier in the week, we received a handful of fantastic reader submitted chair makeovers we wanted to share.

Linda, who's blog The Bargain Life documents her many DIY projects, sent over photos of her remade, aging Ikea chair. Using inexpensive fabric and some new legs (also from Ikea), she covered the old chair using a pattern made from tracing over the seams, and simply stapled to the bottom of the chair.

Nichole took a basic, boring danish chair and brought it up to date with new fabric and some paint.

The chair during the stripping process

She says: "the poor thing was about to meet it's maker and it's small scale and simple lines were exactly what we were after. it was fate! we quickly scooped it up and marched back down the street with it. The cushions were a disaster and were permeated with the smell of stale smoke - even the wood smelled! I had new cushions made with the octopus fabric and I painted the chair a high gloss black."

The final result?

For the eagle-eyed among you, Nichole adds,"ps - that's not a real cigarette in the final picture - it's a pen!"
