Britt of the DIY and design website Cucumbersome bought this shabby piece off of Craigslist for $40. With a little bit of elbow grease and a can of paint she was able to breath some new life into it, and ended up with a perfect cabinet we'd gladly make room for in our home. See the result after the jump...
We never cease to be amazed at what a coat of paint can do to an old Craigslist find. Nice work, Britt! You can read more about this project here, from Cucumbersome.

Argh, that's exactly the style of a piece I've been looking for! Want one!
Well done!
I want one! Nicely done!
OOoooo... i like
Thanks for posting this - what a nice surprise!
And thank you, everyone, for your kind words. I'm so glad you like it.
NEVER underestimate the power of paint... Bravo! Well done! I like how she just kept it simple and let the architecture of the piece speak for itself...
Nice job, the miracle of paint !!
Wow! didn't even notice the neat detail before. Excellent!

Good job.
Nevermind the AMAZING transformation, I'm just excited to see someone using a record cabinet for actual records!
Great job!!
I checked out the cucumbersome site... very cool.
Looks beautiful! Congrats.
why must everything be painted white? i really don't like this trend of painting everything white. in fact, im sick of it. to me, when something gets painted white in a an effort to "breathe new life" into it, it ends up looking like an old piece of furniture that was painted white-- no soul, no character and ultimately kind of cheesy. i liked it better before.

it's actually painted gray :)
Same, for me, Kumquat.
Right on, sflily
it looked much better before than after
but very nice find non the less
I like the weathered dark wood better too, but it might not work in every space. Even so, if this were mine and I wanted to paint it, I think a stronger color would work better due to the size and shape. The pale gray makes the cabinet sort of fade away against the wall.
