We're always inspired by a transformation - and the photos from this Streeterville High Rise makeover are pretty dramatic. From a blank canvas to a dynamic space, it is a prime example of the power of color and texture. Photos below:
Living Room Before
The apartment was done by Amy Lenahan of Design I Interiors. The notes on this project say that the client wanted to use some of the pieces he already owned. We think reupholstering the two armchairs in white was an excellent choice - it really turned them into statement pieces. The textured wall finish is also a great touch - warms up the room and adds so much interest to a simple room, making up for the lack of architectural detail.

Overall, the makeover is nice. I would actually like the original dining chairs better however. They match the new room better than the new chairs. Oh and I'm not a fan of the wall-to-wall carpet. Overall though...
I think that shade is the new chocolate brown. Sienna Brown is the new chocolate, mark my words ha.
I love before and afters. I am lusting after that coffee table in the "living room after" - anyone recognize it?
The coffee table is awesome!! And love the candles over the table. Color combination is good. And I think Garrett is right about the Sienna Brown. It's a color I've been using on my bed for a year now. Works a lot better for matching the espresso/chocolate (dark brown) furniture and black furniture than the chocolate you see in linens and throw pillows.
