Earlier this summer I started redecorating my living room. While it's far from finished, here it is mid-makeover.
The Eames-style chair I inherited from Rebecca was the piece of furniture that started the ball rolling. It reminded me of the (real) one a good friend's stepfather had growing up. In fact, her family's sleek and modern 70s living room is the inspiration for my makeover though, inevitably, my organic and footloose hippie side rears its head when it comes to accessorizing.
There's still lots to do (paint, sell the old couches and lamps -- email me if you're interested! -- hang the television and, perhaps, swap out the credenza for something sleek and, perhaps, white), any more changes will have to wait until I get back!
Resources: The rug, Rolly table and Ikea Docksta table were found on Craigslist, the Thonet chairs are hand-me-downs and were formerly in my dining room, the wooden chair's frame and the ceramic pot that holds the magazines were found at the Pasadena and Irvine flea markets, the large round table was found on eBay, I bought the grey couch and the green lamps from The Brick House, the small table was found at a thrift store in Indiana.

"Two for the Road" = awesome
Suggestion for a credenza - I love my new white chill media consoles from cb2! We bought two put them side by side and not only do they look good, they have nice storage drawers. Nice job so far! What color are you going to paint the room?
Looks great so far! Can't wait to see it finished. :)
I covet the Two for the Road Poster - and much more
Great job Abby! I especially love the green table lamp.
