Before I Restore: Era & Maker of This Chair?

Good Questions

Q: I acquired this wood arm chair from someone at my storage unit when I was moving to a new place. They had bought another storage unit at auction and I happened to pass by at the right time so he gave it to me for free. The frame appears to be oak with a dark walnut stain, and caning on the sides:

The chair is in half decent shape and I think it would make a nice project to refinish and maybe reupholster. However before doing so, I would like to know a little bit about it. The only real information I have aside from pictures is the model or serial number on the bottom of the chair (605046).

Thanks for the help!
