Befores & Afters from Authentic Home

If "authenticity" is the newest decor trend, then Seattle's Authentic Home (in name, at least) is ahead of the curve...

Founded in 2003, Kathy Banak's interior design business, Authentic Home, has a portfolio full of befores and afters. We're not sure how the designs align with the idea of "authentic", but we always love befores and afters. Our favorite three are shown above.

1: Here, the walls were darkened and the window and door openings given emphasis with white contrasting trim. A mirror falls in line with the windows, bouncing more light and movement into the room.
2: A dumpy room without any real furniture to speak of goes sleek and glam with gray and shocking pink.
3: A pretty typical bathtub grows up into a sophisticated glass-doored shower.
