BuJo Curious? The Things to Know About Bullet Journaling Before You Get Started

Notebook

First things first: you need a nice notebook. There's really no right or wrong notebook for bullet journaling. The only requirement is that you love it and that it works for you and your lifestyle. You can get a fancy designer one or just nab a composition notebook from the dollar store. It's completely up to you. However, if you want to do like the bullet journal Instagram stars, we highly recommend the Leuchtturm 1917 dotted notebook. It has a built-in index. The pages are already numbered and the dotted paper makes it flexible for different types of layouts.

Pens

Next, you need a nice pen to write with. Of course, you can use any pen that you already have and love, but when you're starting a new planning system, treating yourself to a pretty new pen (like this patterned pair from the Sugar Paper collection at Target) just makes the whole process that much more fun.
