How To: Make Recycled Egg Carton Fairy Lights

Ah, the ever-versatile egg carton. Before you toss your next few, consider recycling them into something cool like this project...fairy lights.

You can go with one color egg carton or mix it up with various colors. Just cut away the cup strips and then cut petals along the edges to create the "flowers." Make sure you use LED lights only.

I love this and am creating my own right now! A helpful tip: go to your local bakery or breakfast cafe and ask if you can have their old egg cartons. I just got about 10 sheets (like cartons, but flat and larger) for free and they were totally happy to get rid of them. :] Good luck!
