In honor of the Fall Colors Contest, here's a reminder of the power of a well-chosen paint color: Earlier this year, Desire to Inspire's Kim showed off her renovated chairs (the yellow bamboo/cane chair is featured above). From what we've seen of the end result, we'd say this project was well worth the nauseating paint fumes and loopy cats.

The power of paint ... aaaaaaand amazing fabric. This looks gorgeous!
Wow, I hate the look of those bamboo chairs, but that paint job really looks great!
So much so, I would actually buy a couple of them myself and paint them up. Lovely yellow and pretty cushion.
It's amazing what a little paint and color can do. The chair looks great and it really changes the look of the entire area! It's such a simple redecorating technique that I know I should take advantage of. I just read an article on easy redecorating fixes and one of the tips was to give your home a pop of color on your front door. I love the looks of a red door but can I do it??

Thanks for posting my chair! I got the cushion professionally reupholstered so it looks better than the fold job in the photo. (see here). The cats did survive the fumes.
i need all the details...the how to!
I'm all about that yellow too! The chair looks great.
I recently repainted a little stool the same color and it really looks great in the room
I liked the original rattan - but i agree that the reupholstered cushion is a great improvement.
When we found our Hollywood Regency mirror in a junk store it was a dingy off-white. Now reborn in glossy orange it rocks the room: http://stylenorth.ca/blog/2008/06/inspiration-junk-store-junkie/
Love the planter.
