This is a pretty clever idea. We use a USB hub ourselves and in an attempt to clean up our desktop have resorted to mounting it to the underside of the desk. While this has definitely cleared off our desktop, plugging in things like digital cameras are no longer an easy task. Belkin has a new usb hub that is designed to drop into 3 inch grommet holes that are standard in many office desks...or easily drilled out with a 3 inch hole saw.

There are three variations of this hub, a front acess and flush mounted USB hub, but what new accessory would be complete without some sort of iPod connection? Well Belkin has thrown that in here as well.

so i only have two usb ports on my lap top (no usb 2) - is this like... sort of like having a power strip turning one plug into 6....or do you need a usb 2 or something to use this? because if it does give me more than two usb ports, that would be awesome. yes, awesome.
I'm working my desktop. I now have the Belkin Hi_Speed USB 2.0 and FireWire 6-Port Hub set up for my peripherals, which at this point consists of my radioShark, as I print wirelessly on my network. I also purchased the Belkin concealed surge protector to get rid of cable clutter. I usually charge my iPods in their docks and my phone gets charged by my bed, since I use the phone as an alarm. Can't see the use for a charging station, but give me time and I'll find one.
ebrown,
How do you like Belkin's concealed surge protector, does it work well? I have been intrigued by it since I wrote about it, and am about to buy one as well. :)
